Do you find that you struggle with affiliate marketing and seem to consistently fail to make affiliate sales from your blog posts?
Without the right strategies in place, you probably won’t see great results.
But before I move on to the rest of the post, if you haven’t started a blog yet, follow my easy step-by-step guide on how to start your own blog here for just $3.95/month!
My Experience With Affiliate Marketing
I had a really hard time making money from affiliate marketing a few years ago.
It seemed like the most I could make was a small number of sales per month. I didn’t know what I was doing wrong and I couldn’t seem to get past earning $50 a month (and by the way, that was me trying extremely hard!)
So many people clicked my links but my conversion rates were super low or they just didn’t convert at all.
I spent so long scouring the internet for all that I could find on how to improve my affiliate marketing skills. But all I found were blog posts which weren’t comprehensive enough or random strategies that just didn’t seem to work.
Then, I found Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.
I didn’t have a lot of extra money at the time to spend on a course but I knew that it was going to be important to invest in myself and my blog to gain the knowledge to succeed. And plus, I had already wasted a ton of time on free resources that weren’t getting me anywhere.
So I took the plunge, even though my wallet really didn’t like it!
What’s scary when you purchase a course is that you never know what you’ll get. A lot of times, you’ll purchase a course and then regret it because it wasn’t as advertised.
Luckily for me, I can honestly say that this was one of the best investments I’ve made since I started blogging!
After taking this course and implementing the outlined strategies, it totally helped increase my affiliate income that I now earn a few hundred dollars per month from affiliate income – much better than the $50 that I was stuck earning from before!
Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing
If you haven’t heard of Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, it’s an e-course by Michelle from Making Sense Of Cents.
Michelle is a hugely successful blogger who earns more than $100,000 per month from her blog and $50,000 per month of that is just from affiliate marketing!
In this course, she teaches her students all of the strategies that she uses herself to earn money on her blog including in-depth topics such as:
- Rules and regulations you must follow
- How to get your readers to convert
- Building trust
- How to find affiliate programs
- How to promote your affiliate links
There are a ton of other topics that she covers that I didn’t list but you can check out exactly what she teaches on her course page.
In addition to the main strategies she teaches, what I really like about this course is she includes a ton of bonuses that will help you succeed in other areas of your blog. As affiliate marketing isn’t a component all by itself and everything ties in together, it’s so important to improve all areas of your blog to see an increase in your affiliate income.
Here are some of my favorite bonuses:
- Tips on how to get approved for affiliate programs
- How to use Pinterest to increase your pageviews
- Editing and writing strategies to improve your blog content
- How to legally protect your blog
- What to do when your blog post goes viral
- Affiliate products and services worksheet
The cherry on top that really made me want to purchase this course is the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing Facebook group. I’ve purchased lots of courses in the past and many of them don’t include a lot of one-on-one interaction with the creator and it feels like it’s a one and done thing.
With this group, Michelle is constantly interacting with her students and you can even ask her questions on how to improve your blog with her weekly Ask Michelle threads. You can also interact with other students who are in the same boat as you and learn from one another. It’s a great group for support and I highly recommend it!
If you’re a total beginner at affiliate income and/or feel stuck at a certain affiliate income level and can’t seem to get past that mark, you’ll want to check out Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing. I highly recommend it if you need help with improving your affiliate income!
