Rakuten is my most used shopping app that has helped me save so much money over the past years. I always make sure to check it every time I’m purchasing something online because there’s always some sort of cashback or discount happening on the site that saves me money.

How Rakuten Cashback Works
How Rakuten works is they give you back a percentage of your completed purchase.
This percentage varies and fluctuates depending on which day it is.
Cashback Events
What’s so great about Rakuten is that they have special events where you can earn as much as double or triple the normal cashback percentage.
A smart move to make is to wait until these special cashback days happen (as long as the item you want is still in stock, of course) to earn as much as possible.
So on double cashback days, if a store normally has 10% cashback, you’ll earn 20% cashback instead!
This is also the same idea for triple cashback days where you’ll multiple the original cashback percentage by 3.
Coupons & Other Promotional Discounts
Stores normally have coupons, free shipping codes, and special discounts so what happens if you want to use these promotions along with getting cashback?
Well, the best thing about Rakuten is that you can use both simultaneously, so you’ll be getting cashback on top of store discounts as they’re separate entities.
For example, if there’s a sale going on for 40% off a store you want to purchase from, and Rakuten has 15% cashback, this means you could be potentially be saving more than half off of the original price! Crazy!
It’s seriously a great way to save money without really doing anything other than clicking a few buttons.

I personally use the Chrome browser extension to make sure that I always get cashback when it’s available.
You can find the browser extension at the Extensions page on the Google Chrome Web Store. Then search for “Rakuten” and click –> Add To Chrome.
Once it’s downloaded, a Rakuten cashback box will automatically appear any time you go to a site where you can earn cashback. When you see it pop up, click the Activate button to activate your cashback.
